In the Fall, thousands of Toastmasters globally compete in the Humorous speech contests. Competition begins with the club contests and winners continue competing through the area, division, and district levels.
This year, Eri Kosuge, a toastmasters with Abe Lee Toastmasters was among several contestants vying for the championship of the Hawaii District 49 Fall 2016 Humorous Speech Contest.
The 2016 Fall District Conference was held on Saturday, October 29, at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Eri Kosuge won the District’s 1st Place with her Humorous speech titled ‘Japanese Dating Game’.
What is also commendable is that Eri competed in an English speaking contest with English is not her first language. When asked about the competition, Eri resoundingly replied, “Everyone should try it because personally for me it was an absolutely amazing and learning experience! It can be the same for you too!”
