New to Toastmasters?
Aloha from Toastmasters District 49!
Toastmasters is a great program to help the individual to become a better communicator and leader. We teach these skills through a network of more than 50 clubs throughout Hawaii. People of different ethnicity, professional status, and age groups join Toastmasters to improve their public speaking, presentation and leadership skills, and stimulate their personal growth.
Toastmasters Clubs
The mission of each Toastmasters club is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
Members
Members can give their speeches in front of their club in a supportive and safe environment. After their speech, they are evaluated by another club member on the good points of the speech, and ways to improve the speech. Through such feedback, Toastmasters learn from each other.
Educational Program
The learning tools that are used by the clubs is called Pathways. Pathways is an educational program designed help the member build the skills they need, to communicate and lead.
Club Meetings
A typical club meets two times a month. There are some clubs that meet weekly, and some clubs that meet once a month. The meetings are usually one hour in length.
