Aloha District 49 Toastmasters Ohana! Thank you for entrusting me as your District Director for the 2023-2024 Toastmasters year. It is a true honor, and I look forward to serving the district and working with the District Executive Committee as we strive to meet the needs and expectations of our members.

For those members who endured the last couple of years with us as we navigated through unknown "virtual" territory and to those who transitioned with us from manuals to Pathways, thank you! Change is hard. But like Roy T. Bennett said, "Change may not always bring growth, but there is no growth without change."

To our new members who only know Toastmasters as it is now, thank you for seeing the value and worth of being a Toastmaster. Welcome to the family!

When I first joined Toastmasters in 2016, I had no idea my journey would take me to be District Director today. As I reflect on my growth and development over the years, I am thankful for all that Toastmasters has provided me: an educational program to follow at my own pace aimed to help me grow and develop, a new network of people to hone my communication skills, and a stage to practice presentations, all in a safe and friendly environment.

Whether you've been in Toastmasters for 20 years or 20 hours, I hope you have a similar appreciation for your Toastmasters journey. And if not, please let us know how we can improve your experience. I may not have the answer or solution, but I can guarantee my best to support the growth and development of all of us.

Thank you again for this opportunity to serve. I look forward to celebrating our district's successes in June!

Charen Kepler

Aloha Fellow Toastmasters!

I'm honored to be serving as your Program Quality Director this year. We will have an amazing year together as my committees are here to serve! I'm open to hearing feedback from YOU and what you'd like to learn or be trained on here in D49. We are One Ohana and we support one another so let's do that. Let's support one another while upholding the district mission as we work towards success because we're all in this together as a team. As Past International President Richard E. Peck once said "You LEAD a SHIP to success" Leadership is all about growing, supporting, and mentoring the leaders of tomorrow. I look forward to working with you all and if you have any questions or would like to reach out to me my email is [email protected] and I'd be happy to hear from you.

Happy New Year!

Aloha,

Aloha District 49 Toastmasters! I am excited for our new term, and I am honored to serve as your Club Growth Director 2023-2024.

My vision as CGD is to make the district more visible. My favorite marketing tool is YouTube, as I have been using it since 2017 to build and scale my business outside Toastmasters. And the CGD team came up with ideas and fun activities so that we together can be more visible and build new clubs, and engage with each other. Let me introduce the CGD team members who will bring their uniqueness and talent to you.

Alicia Curtis is our Club Extension Chair. If you have an idea for a new club, please reach out to us. We want to build new clubs with brand new members. Jan Cerizo is our Club Quality Chair. She is excited to know you through your transformation stories in Toastmasters in a written format and or video format. Gloria Shishido is our Club Retention Chair. If your club needs some assistance or a Club Coach, please let us know. We want to know how we can provide our support better.

Please keep my email address [email protected] and reach out to me if you have any questions. My WhatsApp is 1-310-425-2184. Or FB Messenger is good too.

When I decided to run for CGD, one person asked me a question. "Do you want to do just OK, or do you want to do your best?" My answer was, "I want to do my best!" If you feel the same way, I want to invite you to set yourself up for success, and I am here to support you to make it happen. Let's have a wonderful year together.

Mahalo,
Aiko Hemingway
